How the Legacy Access Plan works

Calm, patient help, one step at a time. You make every decision. We do the organizing.

  1. A free planning conversation. Call us and we will talk through what you have and what you want. Many people like to include a son, daughter, or trusted friend. That is welcome, and so is doing it on your own.
  2. Your account list. Together we gather the accounts you use: email, banking, insurance, health portals, utilities, phone, shopping, and social media. For each one we note what it is, who should know about it, and whether it should be kept, transferred, or closed one day.
  3. Passwords, kept safe. We help you set up a password manager such as Apple Passwords, Google Password Manager, or another trusted option, or fill in our printed password book if you prefer paper. We show you how to keep it current.
  4. Monthly bills and memberships. We look through your recent statements with you to find recurring charges, streaming services, memberships, and anything that renews on its own. Sometimes people find a charge they had forgotten about.
  5. Devices and passcodes. We note your phone, tablet, and computer, and how a trusted person could unlock them if needed.
  6. Photos, email, and social media. We make sure your photos are backed up, and we talk about who should receive them and what should happen to your email and social media accounts.
  7. Legacy contacts. We set up the official tools that Apple, Google, and Facebook provide. See our legacy contacts guide.
  8. A clear plan for your trusted person. You choose who holds the plan and where it is kept. Many people keep a copy with their will or estate papers. We can check in from time to time to keep it up to date.

Working with your professionals. If you have an estate attorney, financial advisor, or executor, we are happy to coordinate with them so the digital side fits with the rest of your plan. We stick to the technology. They handle the legal and financial side.

We are a technology help company, not a law firm. We do not give legal, tax, or financial advice, and this plan does not replace a will, trust, or power of attorney. We are glad to work alongside your estate attorney, financial advisor, or executor so your digital plan fits with the rest of your estate plan.
